How to compare beauty prices across Nordic retailers

A practical checklist for comparing the same product, delivery costs and retailer terms before following a deal.

A lower product price is useful only when you are comparing the same item and can actually order it to your address. Before choosing a retailer, spend a minute checking the details below. This guide explains our approach to comparison; it does not recommend a merchant that has not approved Lumire.

Start with the exact product

Write down the brand, full product name, size and variant. A 30 ml bottle and a 50 ml bottle are different offers, even if the photographs look identical. For makeup, match the shade and finish. For a device, compare the model number and included attachments.

Sets need a little more attention. List each included item and its size rather than comparing the headline number of pieces. Samples and accessories may be useful, but they do not make two sets equivalent.

Compare a consistent unit

For products in the same size family, divide the price by the amount. A hypothetical 30 ml item at €24 costs €0.80 per ml; a 50 ml item at €35 costs €0.70 per ml. These numbers illustrate the calculation and are not live offers.

A larger size can be better value per unit, but only if you will use it. Consider whether you already know the formula, how often you use it and the storage instructions. Buying an unfamiliar product in a smaller size may be the more practical decision.

Check the total at checkout

The amount on a product card is a starting point. Confirm the delivery charge, delivery destination and any additional charges shown by the merchant before paying. Do not add items you do not need merely to reach a free-delivery threshold.

Compare prices in a consistent currency. If checkout uses another currency, check the conversion and any charges shown by your payment provider. Lumire shows the currency provided for the relevant market; it does not promise your bank's final conversion.

Read the offer conditions

Check the expiry, minimum spend, excluded brands, eligible country and whether a code works with an existing sale price. A promotion for first-time customers may not work for a returning account.

Treat a crossed-out price as a reference supplied by the retailer, rather than proof that every competing store charged that amount. The price you can pay today matters more than the largest advertised percentage.

Know who handles the order

Before buying, find the merchant's contact details and read its delivery and return information. Check whether the policy mentions opened beauty products, seals or special conditions for the item you want. Ask the retailer about anything unclear.

Lumire is a discovery and editorial website. The retailer handles payment, delivery, returns and order support. Our affiliate disclosure explains how qualifying purchases may generate a commission.

Our publication checklist

When a merchant programme approves Lumire, we check the authorised product source, tracking link, product identity, image, price, currency, intended market and availability before publishing. Product information can still change, so always confirm it on the retailer's site.

Until approved products are available, explore our beauty guides. We leave product and coupon sections empty when we cannot verify their source.
