How We Research

Lumire exists to help readers in Finland, the Nordics and wider Europe make better beauty decisions. This page explains how our guides are made, so you can judge them for yourself.

How a guide is made

  1. We start with a real reader problem. Dry skin in a Nordic winter, static hair under a wool hat, choosing a first gua sha tool. Every guide answers a question people actually have.
  2. We research the ingredients and evidence. We look at what an ingredient or tool is known to do, what the evidence supports and where claims go too far. When the evidence is limited, we say so.
  3. We compare the practical details. Price, size, texture, who a product suits and who it does not, plus where it ships from, delivery time to Europe, VAT and returns.
  4. We are clear about what we have and have not tested. When we have used a product ourselves, we say so and show it. When a recommendation is based on research rather than hands-on use, we say that too. We never invent test results, ratings or reviews.
  5. We link to more than one store when possible, so you can choose where to buy.
  6. We update guides when products, prices or evidence change, and show the date of the latest update.

What we will not do

  • Accept payment to recommend a product or to change a conclusion.
  • Publish fake reviews, invented testimonials or made-up statistics.
  • Promote medical claims. Our guides are general information, not medical advice.

How we make money

Some links in our guides are affiliate links. If you buy through them, the store may pay Lumire a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never decides what we recommend. Read our full Affiliate Disclosure.
